Competition for artists and all interested creative persons, experimenters and changemakers, to contribute with their innovative ideas to the development of creative content in the culture of Opatija, in order to support them in influencing qualitative changes in society in the field of environmental conservation and the “zero waste” concept in tourism.
OKIZA 2020 Opatija culture and green activism
Žmergo Association, in cooperation with the Youth Council of the City of Opatija, invites artists and interested developers to apply for cultural projects within the framework of the OKIZA 2020 program (Opatija culture and green activism), part of the Opatija initiative of the program line 27 neighborhoods, part of the Rijeka 2020 - “European Capital of Culture” project.
The OKIZA program is designed as an impulsive development of creative content in culture in Opatija and supports artists in their efforts to influence qualitative changes in society in the field of environmental conservation and the “zero waste” concept in tourism. After receiving online applications, the jury will select 10 creative projects that will be presented to the public through a short 5-minute interactive and multimedia presentation at the Gervais Cultural Center in Opatija, October 15th 2020.
The most interesting project that the jury and the audience will recognize as the most useful for the community will receive the financial support of €667 (gross) in order to realize it in Opatija by June 2021 at the latest.
DEADLINE The contest is open for applications until September 28th 2020 (until 2 pm).
APPLICANTS The contest is open to all persons (the minimum age is 18 years) and legal entities (associations, art organizations, companies etc.). Legal seat or residence in the Opatija area is not a requirement for the application.
IMPORTANT: In order for the application to be successful, it is necessary to submit additional materials and documents to obtain a more comprehensive insight into the type and quality of the project being submitted. Materials can be submitted by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with the name of the applicant and the name of the contest OKiZA 2020. in the subject (Name Surname, OKiZA 2020.). E-mail with additional materials arriving after the deadline will not be taken into account when evaluating the project by the jury. IMPLEMENTATION OF THE COMPETITION IN CASE OF MORE STRICT EPIDEMIOLOGICAL MEASURES Depending on the further development of the epidemiological situation in the Republic of Croatia caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, with the aim of protecting the life and health of the population in the Republic of Croatia, an alternative to the competition is envisaged in the online domain.
