We are seeking a future focused, inspirational leader/educator to develop and support our high performing and self-leading teams within the Dunedin School of Art at Otago Polytechnic and to drive the future strategic development of the programmes we deliver alongside Architectural Studies, Design, and Food Design.  You will lead teams in a range of areas including: Ceramics, Drawing, Electronic Arts, Jewellery & Metalsmithing, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, Textiles, and Art History & Theory with around 250 enthusiastic learners to achieve excellence in alignment with our educational philosophy and priorities, values and strategic direction.  You will also ensure academic design, development and delivery exceed stakeholders’ expectations by working with your highly capable staff and with communities to achieve success.

You will have experience in a Project Based Learning context, demonstrable leadership skills and experience, with a track record of success in delivering arts and vocational education via  multiple delivery methods, working alongside communities.  You will need to demonstrate a commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and to sustainability.  You will have significant experience in teaching, research and leadership in the tertiary sector.   

Our schools and services work alongside communities and industry in the programmes we deliver and we are looking to build further on  our connection with Capable NZ, which is a division of Otago Polytechnic focused on workbased learning.  You will hold a relevant postgraduate qualification at least at Masters level.
