European Parliament adopted ESF+ Report
Good news from the European Parliament!
adopted the ESF+ Report on 16 January with a large majority. One of the three main areas that ESF+ will invest in is education, training and lifelong learning (Read more about ESF+
). The European Commission already extended the basis of its education policy from the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) acronym to STEAM - with the A standing for 'the Arts' (Read ELIA and AEC's Position Paper on STEAM
This is not only a recognition of the significance of cultural education, but it should also open up new funding opportunities for art and cultural education.
The next step will be a trilogue negotiation between the Council of the European Union, European Commission and the European Parliament Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL committee).
