ESADSE launches a call for contributions!

08 January 2019

The Higher School of Art and Design of Saint-Etienne (ESADSE) is pleased to announce a Call for Contributions for the Colloquium “Arts and Crafts todaythat will take place on 13-14 March 2019 in Saint-Etienne, France. Please find the detailed description of the Programme and the Call in English here and in French on our web site.

Arts & Crafts, an artistic movement of the end of the 19th century, has a special general resonance at present: in the context of the relations between art and design, craftsmanship and industry. In order to explore this theme, The Modernity Experimentations Research Lab of the Higher School of Art and design of Saint-Etienne (ESADSE), leads a Research Programme “Arts and Crafts Today” in partnership with Ecole nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris, LARHRA, Université Lumière Lyon 2, CIEREC, Université Jean Monnet Saint-Etienne and the Modern and Contemporary Art Museum with support of the Saint-Etienne Metropolitan Government.

Amongst the activities for 2018-2019, the ESADSE planned a series of 5 seminars, workshops and a colloquium. As a result of the project, a publication including the contributions of the colloquium will be produced, as well as an exhibition that will be organized at the Cité du design in 2020.
