ELIA Welcomes the School of the Art Institute of Chicago as New Member
ELIA welcomes our newest non-European member the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC)
Founded as the Chicago Academy of Design in 1866, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago is one of the most historically significant accredited and independent schools of art and design in the United States.
SAIC provides degrees at the undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, and graduate levels, offering a broad and dynamic spectrum of study, including Art and Technology Studies; Art Education and Art Therapy; Fashion Design; Film, Video, New Media, and Animation; Architecture, Sculpture; Sound; Visual Communication; Visual and Critical Studies. Their comprehensive programs in Liberal Arts emphasize the critical role that humanities, mathematics, and sciences play in artists' development.
SAIC has many accolades, including recognition by Columbia University’s National Arts Journalism survey as “the most influential art college in the United States” and our consistent ranking among the top graduate fine arts programs in the nation by U.S. News and World Report.
