ELIA Executive Director Receives 2020 ISPA Award
On Thursday 16 January 2020, ELIA Executive Director Maria Hansen will receive the Patrick Hayes Award during the New York 2020 International Society for the Performing Arts
(ISPA) Congress, Reframing the Conversation: Art and Borders. The award will be presented at a ceremony to be held at the Times Center in New York.
“She (Maria) inspires new leaders in the performing arts to connect globally and add value to the international network at ISPA.”
Inspired by the legacy of Patrick Hayes, the founding President of the International Society of the Performing Arts Foundation, this Award recognizes an ISPA member in any stage of their career who has demonstrated transformative leadership in the performing arts.
Maria started her position as Executive Director at ELIA with great respect of the legacy of our higher arts education network and a humble approach to it. In a very short time, she managed to fully grasp with the deepest understanding all the developments and challenges gonging on in the higher arts education sector. She travelled through Europe and beyond it to visit as many member institutions as possible. From her home country Germany, to Hong Kong, from our largest community in the United Kingdom to our most members in Mongolia.
ELIA is very proud of the great achievement of its Executive Director and on behalf of the Representative Board, ELIA President Andrea B. Braidt congratulates Maria full heartedly for receiving such a prestigious Award:
“Maria Hansen took over this position only two years ago, and she took ELIA’s heart by storm. Her vision, her leadership, her unfathomable energy and her profound and warm professionalism took our organisation, which is the largest of its kind in Europe, to the next level. We thank Maria for her commitment to ELIA. This award is a wonderful recognition of Maria’s incredible achievements!”
