Education, Youth, Culture and Sports Council Resolution of Sustainable Development
Last week, the Education, Youth, Culture and Sports Council
adopted the “resolution on the cultural dimension of sustainable development."
The European Commission will be working towards an action plan in cooperation with the member states, which is expected to be included into the future EU implementation strategy for the 2030 Agenda.
The aim of the resolution is to strengthen the contribution of culture to sustainable development. Delivering on sustainability would be a response of the sector to the New Strategic Agenda 2019-2024
adopted by the European Council in June.
In this strategic agenda, European Union Leaders have identified sustainability as crucial for the European model for the future and have committed to invest in culture and cultural heritage, which are at the heart of European identity
As ELIA is taking the lead in the area of Climate Change in SHIFT - Shared Initiatives for Training
