Leadership Symposium 2015
Deadline 31 October

ELIA is now planning to organise the 7th ELIA Leadership Symposium in 2015 and is calling upon its members to nominate a venue.

Through a combination of formal presentations by prominent keynote speakers and round table discussions, the Symposium gathers leaders and key decision makers from higher arts education institutions across the globe.

The Leadership Symposium aims to create a generative environment of conversation, building towards outcomes that will have tangible effects for the future of higher arts education institutions.

As experienced in the previous editions, the ELIA Leadership Symposiums gives the co-organising host institutes a unique opportunity to present themselves to the European and International Art Education Institutes as well as all the related national and international organisations.

Budget for the Leadership Symposium is approximately 155.000 Euro (including costs ‘in kind’), from which 60.000 will be raised by ELIA and 95.000 by the partner institution.

For all major ELIA events there has been considerable financial support from governmental and local authorities.

Guidelines for an expression of interest:
+What will attract participants to travel to your city, how reachable is your city by air and by train and what is the hotel capacity

+What are the possibilities of the venue (capacity, flexibility, technical facilities).
+What possibilities do you see to raise the 95.000 Euro necessary to develop the project

Email expressions of interest before 31 October 2013 to ELIA Executive Director, Carla Delfos, at carla.delfos@elia-artschools.org.

ELIA and SHARE Reaction to
Revision of the OECD Frascati Manual:
Towards a Frascati 7.0, which includes the Arts and Arts Research

ELIA and the SHARE Network reacted to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) consultation on the anticipated revision of the OECD Frascati Manual, making the case for an appropriate status of the Arts and Arts research within the next version of the Frascati Manual.  We argued that the Arts should be a field of its own on the 1-digit level and that arts research should be included instead of excluded, making this field visible in future statistics.
