6th ELIA Leadership Symposium

Hosted by the University of the Arts Helsinki, the 6th ELIA Leadership Symposium will take place the 27-29 November 2013 at the Helsinki Congress Paasitorni under the title E/MERGE.

The deadline for early-bird registrations, which offers a 100€ discount, is 31 August.


To ensure an optimal level of interaction, representation, focus and collegiality, participation will be limited to leaders and key decision makers. To create an intimate and professional frame for discussion, the Leadership Symposium is limited to a maximum of 100 delegates.

The Utrecht School of the Arts opens its doors to the 6th ELIA Teachers’ Academy 2013 - Preparing the Artist of Tomorrow held 24 - 26 June 2013 in Utrecht and Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

The Teachers’ Academy is an international platform for ideas and practices for teachers in artschools in Europe and beyond. Its main aim is to contribute to the professional development for lecturers in higher arts education.

3rd Annual SHARE Conference Brussels

Over two days of presentations, break-out groups, workshops and discussions, this international conference will focus on the innovative character of creative research and the embedding of creative research in European Policy on Research, Culture and Innovation.

ELIA Biennial Conference & General Assembly 2016

Deadline: 15 May 2013

How to Apply
To nominate your city, please write an application in which you outline why you wish to be the host of the 14th ELIA Biennial Conference. Please explain the venue possibilities, the financial support and possible partnerships you foresee.

The ELIA Executive Group will select a maximum of 3 venues that will be further investigated through a visit of Kieran Corcoran, ELIA President and Carla Delfos, ELIA Executive Director.

Deadline for proposals is 15 May 2013.

Call for Hosts
Road to Change


Matthew McVarish is walking to 31 cities in Europe to Stop the Silence and Stop Child Sexual Abuse.

The Road to Change is a 10,000 mile walk visiting 31 of the capital cities in the European Union (EU) by foot, to raise awareness about child sexual abuse (CSA) build solidarity between organizations and communities, support survivors, and influence social and political change. Matthew McVarish, European Ambassador for ‘Stop the silence, stop child sexual abuse inc’ in Washington DC, will be walking the road to change.

The road begins in London, starting on May 31st 2013, and ends in Edinburgh February 2015, 18 months later.
