The European League of Institutes of the Arts (ELIA) is pleased to announce the 5th  NEW NOW Festival, presenting the most exciting and creative NEU artistic talent NOW emerging across Europe and beyond.


What is the NEW NOW Festival?
The NEW NOW Festival is an innovative international platform for talented graduating artists and recent graduates (within one year of graduation) – of Higher Arts Education Institutions and Universities across Europe and beyond – to present themselves to a wider international audience within a professional arts context. The Festival features the most excellent new artists now entering the professional arts arenas and is an international showcase for emerging creative talent.

From the nominated projects, a maximum of 150 projects across all the categories will be presented online at www.neunow.com, which is widely accessible to arts professionals and public alike.

A selection of projects will be presented in the NEW NOW LIVE Festival 2013 that will take place 22-26 June 2013 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The NEW NOW LIVE Festival will take place in collaboration with the ITs Festival Amsterdam.

Who can Participate?
The NEW NOW Festival is open to arts students in their final year of study and recent graduates (within one year of graduation) of Higher Arts Education Institutions across Europe and beyond, which are ELIA members, ELIA associate members or ELIA non-European members.

The call for entry to this competition is also open to institutions members of ELIA partner networks: AEC-European Association of Conservatories,
CUMULUS-International Association of Universities and Colleges of Art, Design and Media,
CILECT-International Association of Film and Television Schools and
EAAE-European Association for Architectural Education.

Students (as individuals or groups) are nominated, by their institution, within one of the following five broad categories:

Visual Arts
Design/Architecture
Theatre/Dance
Music/Sound
Film /Animation


How to Apply
Nominations for individuals or groups must be submitted by their institution.

Nominations must be submitted online.

NEW NOW Festival 2013
Call for Experts

The NEW NOW Festival 2013 is actually looking for curators, programmers, artists and experts from all art disciplines from all over Europe for an online selection procedure of presentations and art works from young emerging artists.

Each selected jury member will receive a fee of 250 Euro.

The selection of the art works will take place online from 11 – 24 January 2013.

12th ELIA Biennial Conference

The 12th ELIA Biennial Conference, hosted by the University of Applied Arts Vienna (Die Angewandte) on 8-10 November 2012, is the largest conference on Higher Arts Education worldwide.

This week is the last chance to participate in lively dialogue centered around the theme of Art Questions, Art Knows, Art Matters, network with colleagues from around the world and hear such luminaires as Yoko Ono speak.
