The next ELIA General Assembly will be organised on 10 November 2012, coinciding with the 12th ELIA Biennial Conference in Vienna. During the General Assembly the ELIA Representative Board members will be elected, we hereby ask member institutions for nominations to the ELIA Board for the period autumn 2012 - autumn 2014.

Languages through Lenses 2012

Production Photos Now Online!

Via the Languages Through Lenses competition, supported by the European Commission, we invite student filmmakers to highlight the advantages of learning and speaking foreign languages and to illustrate the enriching experience of intercultural exchanges.

15 student teams have been busy in production over the past months in preparation for the premiere of their films at the PRIX EUROPA Festival in Berlin in October.

ELIA-ASIA Symposium
Final Registration Deadline Reminder

Deadline: 25 September 2012

Hosted by K-Arts - Korea National University of Arts and in collaboration with the University of the Arts London, ELIA - the European League of the Institutes of the Arts is organizing the ELIA-ASIA Symposium, in Seoul, South Korea on 4-6 October 2012.

Delegates coming from all over Asia and Europe will be joining this event with the aim to network, share good practice and discuss on the theme “The role of the arts for a better world”.

On the event website, the delegates list is now available.

ELIA - the European League of the Institutes of the Arts, is an independent organisation of approximately 300 major Higher Arts Education Institutions and Universities in Europe representing all disciplines of the arts in 47 countries, altogether representing more than 300,000 art students.

With its over 20 years of activities, ELIA will support delegates in discussing the possibilities of establishing an ELIA-ASIA network and in identifying what activities are of most interests for the European and Asian higher education institutions.

12th ELIA Biennial Conference: Vienna November 2012

SHARE Programme Announced

The 12th ELIA Biennial Conference, hosted by the University of Applied Arts Vienna – Die Angewandte on 8-12 November 2012, is shaping up to be an unmissable event featuring a spectrum of programmes to meet all interets.

The ELIA Biennial Conference has been established as a major event for a large number of institutes of higher arts education in Europe and beyond. Thanks to the MuseumsQuartier Wien, venue of the Biennial Conference, we will experience a highly enriching environment in an exciting city.

SHARE and the ELIA Biennial: A Perfect Pairing

SHARE is an international networking project comprising 40+ partners from across Europe working together on enhancing the 3rd cycle of arts research and education in Europe.

On Thursday 8 November SHARE will host a morning of dissemenation sessions, featuring a keynote speech from Ute Meta Bauer and two thematic strands Performative Dissemination and Dissemination in Industry, focusing on case studies from a number of speakers. The open dissemination sessions by the SHARE Network with the sub-heading Art-Shares will explore different ways in which creative arts research can be disseminated, networked, exhibited, presented, published, broadcast, webcast, and generally distributed/archived for the future.

All ELIA members are welcome to attend the SHARE Sessions and can register through the online registration form.
