Languages through Lenses 2012: Call for Proposals
Deadline: 1 March 2012

Languages through Lenses affords students the ideal opportunity to present themselves as emerging artists to an international audience. Supported by a collaborative workshop process, a generous production grant of € 5000, an invitation to the PRIX EUROPA Festival in Berlin, and the DVD production of their work for wider distribution, participants will enjoy a dynamic production process from start to finish.  

We invite students at ELIA and CILECT member institutions to submit proposals for the production of new videos (minimum 60 - maximum 90 seconds) promoting language learning, the value of speaking several languages and the richness of intercultural exchanges, using the language of the arts.

Who can apply?

Applications will be accepted from students at ELIA and CILECT member institutions in the 27 European Union Member States and in Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Turkey.

An international jury will evaluate and select a maximum of 15 proposals.

The 5th ELIA Teachers' Academy 2012:
Registration Brochure

Online Registration Opens 15 March 2012

The ESMAE School of Music and Performing Arts and the Faculty of Fine Art, University of Porto open their doors to the 5th ELIA Teachers’ Academy 2012, 11-13 July 2012 in Porto.

Registration begins 15 March 2012.
The deadline for online registrations is 3 July 2012.

What is the Teachers' Academy?
The Teachers’ Academy is an international platform for ideas and practices for teachers in artschools in Europe and beyond. Its main aim is to contribute to the professional development for lecturers in higher arts education.

You have the opportunity to meet lecturers from all over the world presenting innovative working methods and practices. You are invited to explore and engage with the exhibitions and performances of the ELIA NEW NOW LIVE Festival (www.neunow.com), an annual event that features high quality, exciting work of art graduates from all over Europe.

Who can Participate?
If you are a professor, a lecturer, a teacher or a researcher in a higher arts education institution, you are welcome to join the Teachers’ Academy, share your ideas and practices with international colleagues and return home refreshed by new knowledge, professional energy and new contacts with colleagues.

Programme
With a dynamic balance of information, participation and interaction with colleagues, the programme offers 19 presentations, 4 workshops and keynote speakers Giep Hagoort (Professor of Art and Economics at The Utrecht School of Arts and Utrecht University) and João Brites (Artistic Director and Founder of Teatro O Bando).
