The SHARE/NIDA Summer School on Artistic Research Application Deadline 26 March

Vilnius Academy of Arts and SHARE are pleased to announce the NIDA Summer School for Artistic Research at NIDA art colony. This is a 9-day intensive summer school in July 2012 that will address issues of visual thinking, thinking-through-practice and the role of creative and experimental writing practices in doctoral level studies in visual art forms.

NIDA art colony is located on the Curonian Spit, a 98 km long peninsula separating the Curonian Lagoon and the Baltic Sea included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The Summer School will feature a joint international curriculum hosted and devised by different partners in the SHARE network. Eight scholarships covering accommodation and a subsidy for travel are available.

Peer Power - The ELIA Quality Enhancement Project
QA&E Experts Training Workshop
Birmingham, UK, 23-25 February 2012


In the last years ELIA has developed a distinct approach towards Quality Assurance and Enhancement, including a methodology tailored for Higher Arts Education Institutions. The next training workshop for QA&E experts is in Birmingham, 23-25 February. Registration fee is 450 euro.

Languages through Lenses 2012: Call for proposals
Deadline: 1 March 2012

We invite students at ELIA and CILECT member institutions to submit proposals for the production of new videos (minimum 60 - maximum 90 seconds) promoting language learning. Guidelines and conditions are in the call for proposals (pdf).

You can view previous winners and all 15 films of last year's edition on the Languages through lenses site. Also watch the documentary on Alex TV.

Call for real or utopian prospects for tomorrow’s school of art

On the occasion of its 300th anniversary, the Brussels Royal Academy of Fine Arts, School of Art and the European League of Institutes of the Arts  (ELIA) organise an international competition for art schools in and out of Europe.

What does the art school of the future look like? How will it fit into the society as a teaching place, a place of artistic dynamics and of interaction with the environment and the history to which it belongs?
