ELIA BIENNIAL 2018: Call for Presentations is now open!
ELIA is pleased to announce that the 15th ELIA Biennial Conference will take place in Rotterdam, the Netherlands between 21 – 24 November 2018. The conference is hosted by Codarts University of the Arts and Willem de Kooning Academy.

Colleagues from ELIA member institutions from all artistic disciplines are invited to contribute by showcasing their practices in the arts and education, be it in a Pecha Kucha, paper presentation, workshop, debate or any other suitable format that sparks discussion. 

THEME: Resilience and the City. Art, Education, Urbanism
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: 18 DECEMBER

OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF ELIA BIENNIAL 2018
The ELIA Team along with the Steering Group and the Hosts of the 15th ELIA Biennial Conference are very excited to launch the official campaign for the event! 

A little over a year from now around 500 directors, thinkers, lecturers, artists, speakers and presenters will gather in Rotterdam at the largest higher arts education conference worldwide. 

We look forward to seeing you there!
 
 
Leadership Symposium 2017 in Poznan: Limited places available!
REGISTRATION CLOSES 20 NOVEMBER

Join influential leaders of higher arts education institutions worldwide for a 3-day exclusive networking event in Poznan. Places are limited so register now and don't miss this amazing event especially for leaders holding upper management positions at ELIA member institutions. 

All the Speakers are confirmed and the Full Programme is online.

The symposium will be held from 29 November - 1 December 2017 and is hosted by University of Arts in Poznan.

NXT Conference Wrap-Up: Watch the Video!

The NXT Conference took place on 14-15 September and we are still reminiscing about the stimulating discussions and interesting conclusions and opinions that were voiced during this 2-day event in Amsterdam. 
Thank you again to the Amsterdam University of the Arts and our wonderful venue, the Academy of Theatre and Dance (part of AHK) for hosting!

The NXT Project Regional Visits: Riga 
Last week ELIA and some of the NXT Project partners, Marine Lecointe from Cité du Design Saint-EtienneHans-Gerd Nottenboom from InWest eG - Kreativwirtschaft, Dortmund and  Janis Gailitis from the Art Academy of Latvia, attended the  Empty Spaces + Creative Industries = Creative Placemaking?  conference in Riga, as part of their second regional visits to the capital of Latvia. 

The conference - workshop brought together representatives of the Municipality of Riga and experts, practitioners, developers and civil servants from Latvia, Germany, Denmark and France who appreciate the potential of vacated buildings and see spatial planning concepts as well as the promotion of the creative industries as opportunities to trigger economic development in Riga.

EQ-ARTS: Would you like to be an expert? 
Join the next EQ-Arts reviewer’s training, which will be held at DAMU Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, from 28-29 January 2018!

The key aims of the training are specifically designed to enable participants to adopt a range of skills to work as an international peer-review expert in the field of external QA (in line with the ESG guidelines).

This year they particularly like to welcome those working in Design (Graphic, Fashion, Product etc.), Performing Arts, Architecture, Film/Media. Participants from ELIA member schools receive a reduction of 15% on the fee.
