8th ELIA Academy: A big THANK YOU to all who participated!
ELIA would like to thank the delegates, hosts, speakers, presenters and the Steering Group for coming together and organising a successful and inspiring event!

The 8th ELIA Academy took place last week from 5 to 7 July in London. The event was hosted by Central Saint Martins and the Teaching and Learning Exchange at the University of the Arts London.

The delegates took part in interactive workshops and were challenged to actively contribute to the thought-provoking discussions and to create art. 

The keynote speeches are available on the ELIA website: Heather Barnett | Charlotte Webb and Fred Deakin | Bart van Rosmalen.

NXT CONFERENCE Making a Living from the Arts:  More Speakers Confirmed!

More speakers were confirmed this week! The Social Impact and Social Innovation session is one speaker richer, namely, Joost Beunderman, director of 00 and founder of Impact Hub Islington and Impact Hub Brixton. Rosina Gómez-Baeza joins STAGE 2: Entrepreneurial initiatives: new models of education? session.

NEU NOW 2017 Programme Overview Online

NEU NOW, the post-disciplinary art festival devoted to presenting the work of emerging artists returns to Amsterdam’s Westergasfabriek from 14–17 September 2017.

For the ninth edition, NEU NOW presents a programme that aims to highlight cultural exchange. NEU NOW 2017 will welcome 44 artists from 16 countries representing 28 unique artworks. Catch a glimpse of the programme here!

Foam x NEU NOW: Robert Glas – Before the Law

NEU NOW 2013 Artist Robert Glas (NL) presents his work at Foam Fotografiemuseum this July. A selection of his short films, photographs and installations will be on display at Foam 3h.
The exhibition opens on 21 July and runs until 10 September 2017

NEU NOW organised this exhibition in partnership with Foam Fotografiemuseum Amsterdam. 3h is Foam’s project space dedicated to showcasing young talent.

Interact with peers, share and compare experiences, explore new opportunities at the ELIA Leadership Symposium! Early-bird deadline is 31 July 2017

The symposium will be held from 29 November - 1 December 2017 and is hosted by University of Arts in Poznan.  The overall theme of the symposium:  Heritage/Transition/Values.

The speakers confirmed are
  •  Jan Sowa (sociologist and activist)
  • Krzysztof Czyżewski (writer, theatre director and philosopher)
  • Magdalena Moskalewicz (art historian, editor and curator)
  • Vasyl Cherepanyn (lecturer of cultural studies and editor)
