Languages through Lenses
The Importance of Speaking Two Languages wins at PRIX EUROPA

The 15 finalised audiovisual productions have been presented during the PRIX EUROPA Festival in Berlin, 22-29 October 2011 where the PRIX EUROPA Prize for "Best Video on Multilingualism of the Year 2011 by a Student" was awarded in the 'Languages through Lenses' category.

And the winner is:
The importance of speaking two languages
Yael Leibel & Marco Resa
Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia - CSC
(Rome, Italy)

The jury gave a further commendation to  Missing the Train  by Lubomir Draganov & Dimitar Kostov (New Bulgarian University, Sofia).
The third nominee was
Carry-on by Muhabbat Huiskamp & Jitte Hoekstra (Rietveld Academy, Amsterdam).

Call for Venues – ELIA Biennial Conference 2014
Deadline: 15 December

ELIA will organise its 13th Biennial Conference in 2014 and is calling upon its members to nominate a venue. Deadline for proposals is 15 December 2011
.
The ELIA Biennial Conference is usually organised in autumn and attracts roughly 500 delegates, representing more than 40 countries, giving the host institute(s) a unique opportunity to present themselves to Higher Art Education Institutions and Universities from all over the world. The host institute’s students and teachers are encouraged to be involved in the development of the conference.
ELIA is currently preparing the 12th Biennial Conference that will take place in Vienna, 8-10 November 2012: www.eliabiennial.com.

Museo Piaggio, Pontadera is hosting the sixth edition of Crea©tivity, a two-day event with exhibitions, workshops, lectures and more that revolves around design, creativity and innovation. Crea©tivity 2011 has an active involvement from students and art schools from Italy and abroad. ELIA is a partner in the project and presents a virtual window on the NEW NOW Festival.
