NXT CONFERENCE  Registration Now Open!
 

Join the NXT Conference - Making a Living from the Arts that will take place in Amsterdam, 14-15 September 2017.

The Amsterdam University of the Arts (AHK) opens its doors to the NXT Conference Making a Living from the Arts, a two-day dynamic event that brings together academics from all over Europe, cultural professionals, cultural entrepreneurs and artists who will address the challenges that the contemporary arts sector is facing and explore the creative solutions that are being developed. 

Delegates of the NXT Conference will also attend NEU NOW, Amsterdam’s international art festival devoted to presenting the work of Europe’s emerging artists. The 9th edition of NEU NOW will be held from 14 – 17 September 2017 at the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam | neunow.eu

The ELIA Representative Board appoints ELIA new Executive Director

ELIA is thrilled to announce that last Friday, 7 April 2017, the ELIA Representative Board gathered in Amsterdam and appointed Maria Hansen as the new Executive Director.
In October 2016, ELIA’s founding Director Carla Delfos announced her upcoming retirement after 27 years of inspirational leadership. 
Today Carla congratulates the newly appointed Executive Director: “I am grateful for the work done by the succession committee and feel very reassured by their choice. With much confidence, I leave ELIA in the capable hands of Maria Hansen”.

The official handover is planned for the 1st of October 2017.

CALL FOR VENUES: 16th ELIA Biennial Conference

ELIA will organise its 16th Biennial Conference in 2020 and is calling upon its members to nominate a venue.

ELIA is currently preparing the 15th Biennial Conference that will take place 21-24 November 2018 in Rotterdam, hosted by Codarts University of the Arts and Willem de Kooning Academy.

Interact with peers, share and compare experiences, explore new opportunities at the ELIA Leadership Symposium!

The symposium will be held from 29 November - 1 December 2017 and will be organized in partnership with the University of Arts in Poznan. This year’s discussion will be focused on the theme: Heritage/Transition/Values

NXT Residency 2017: Artists' Trainings 
The selected artists for the NXT Residency 2017 arrived in Vienna and have started the programme with a first two-days workshop session at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna (7 - 8 April 2017).  
Make yourself an expert / Going international training started focusing on the Soft and transferable skills development. The artists’ programme continues with face-to-face-activities and mentoring and other workshop sessions. 
The next intensive training session is going to focus on Strategy and Vision.
At the end of the residency programme, an online toolkit is going to be published outlining the main content elements.

Very successful Expert Training in Prague


EQ-Arts is pleased to report that its 7th International Quality Assurance and Enhancement Training Workshop for academic and administrative staff was a success. 15 Participants (the majority from ELIA member institutions), from all European regions, representing a wide spread of disciplines, joined the EQ-Arts Expert Training in Prague, at host institution the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (AMU).
