The NXT Project: NXT Creatives platform

NXT Creatives is part of the NXT Project and it’s a virtual meeting point for artists, art students, art educators, cultural entrepreneurs, researchers, creative hubs and creative businesses.

NXT Creative Centres is a handy search tool of creative centers around the globe based on the qualitative desk research conducted in the framework of the NXT Project. NXT Knowledge Center is a repository of toolkits, research and useful sources on cultural entrepreneurship, also based on the content produced during the first phase of the NXT Project. In addition, the platform showcases NEU NOW Artists from past festival editions.
Through regional visits, the NXT Project aims to keep the finger on the pulse regarding developments in the field of cultural entrepreneurship in art schools and creative centres. So far, the NXT Project visited Belgrade and Riga and held workshops on cultural entrepreneurship for students and the academic staff of the art academies there.

NEU NOW 2016 Online Spotlight: Code Talk , Kathrin Stumreich

Kathrin Stumreich lives and works in Vienna. She studied at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. She was selected for the NEU NOW 2016 Online edition of the festival.

New media installation Code Talk consists of a video sequence with an audio-track that can be heard over a self-made surveillance device which consists of two laser tech-sculptures and a mini screen behind window glass. The video shows the last survivor of the twenty nine people who developed the Navajo Code. Taking national security as a central theme, this installation shows different perspectives positioning them closely next to each other.
