Our banner photo this month is from an illustration book that Karolien Raeymaekers published together with Belgian journalist, Annelies Beck. Karolien was one of the selected artists at the NEU NOW festival in 2015.The title of the book is "Toen de zee stil was" or her own translation "when the sea was quiet". It's a poetic story for all ages about the sea that suddenly stops making noise. She now lives in Ghent, where she studied animation at the Royal Academy of Arts. She graduated in 2014 with her shortfilm “Oma” that was featured at the NEU NOW festival.
