Internationalisation in a post-Brexit Europe
Friday, 21 September 2018 | Royal College of Art | London, UK
ELIA is happy to invite all its UK members to attend a half-day regional seminar in London on Friday 21 September. Our topic will be the future of internationalisation in a Europe where the politics of Brexit have become a fact. We know this to be a significant concern to our members and we want to bring together several experts to speak to the leadership of our UK member institutions about the changes that are coming your way.
Date: Friday 21 September 2018
Time: 12:30 – 17:30, including a light lunch and closing drinks
Host: Royal College of Art, Battersea Campus, London
Why should you come?
ELIA may not be a gamechanger in Brexit negotiations but our network represents about 250 higher arts education institutions all over Europe, friends and colleagues who are keen to continue their excellent collaboration with the UK arts schools. On 21 September we want to reaffirm that connection but also provide you with some answers – about access to EU funding programs, about the status of the negotiations, student mobility and fees, and about how to collaborate successfully despite not being part of the EU anymore. Our conversation will be opened by ELIA President Thomas Meier
from the Zurich University of the Arts and will then be inspired by a number of speakers, namely
- Thomas Jørgensen, Senior Policy Coordinator at the European Universities Association in Brussels
- Rebecca Walton, British Council EU Regional Director
- Professor L. Alan Winters, Director of the UK Trade Policy Observatory
