The ELIA-ASIA Symposium: 'Creating a Global Network' was held from the 4-6 October 2012 in Seoul, South Korea at K-Arts- Korea National University of Arts and resulted in the establishment of the Asian League of Institutes of the Arts (ALIA) network.
With over 60 delegates from 26 countries, from 15 Asian countries plus Australia, Europe, the USA and Canada, the ELIA-ASIA Symposium in Seoul, South Korea on 4-6 October 2012 has been a great success, giving life to the Asian League of Institutes of the Arts (ALIA).
ELIA is very grateful to all those who have been involved in the event and for their input into this strategically important initiative for global higher arts education.
The establishment of the ELIA –ASIA network ALIA is an important step forward in creating a more powerful worldwide lobby and voice for arts education and will also allow educators and teachers to share common interests and ambitions. The connection ELIA –ALIA will allow members from both organizations to speak with a united voice on issues that have an impact on mutual interests and will help developing knowledge and expertise.
