Expanded Image: Storytelling in Interactive Real Space

This paper describes and evaluates a workshop that was run in autumn 2008 at the new MA Animage at the Lucerne School of Art and Design in Switzerland. In this module, students with predominantly an illustration, animation or graphic design background were introduced into the idea of interactive storytelling in real space with the help of computer controlled sensors and switches. One of the main challenges was to develop a workshop in which students with no programming skills could come to quick results. After two weeks of workshop the students successfully presented a room-filling walk-in installation.
