NEU/NOW is a great opportunity for graduating students in the arts to present themselves!
The NEU/NOW Festival will show selected work from graduating students from all art disciplines from all over Europe, first on line, followed live in November 2009 in Vilnius. Vilnius Cultural Capital of Europe made it possible for ELIA to organise this pilot that is meant to become an annual festival, growing into a major leading and trendsetting event that will make the artists of the future visible to the world.

1-4 July 2009, Sofia, Bulgaria
The Teachers' Academy, now for the first time in the framework of artesnet Europe, provides an opportunity for arts teachers around Europe and beyond to meet, share experience, participate in workshops, and exchange best practice.
The theme of this year's academy is "Storytelling".

21-22 September 2009, Palermo, Italy
Under the title "Transition and Progression in Fine Art Education and Research", PARADOX, the ELIA Fine Art Section, is organizing a two-day conference in Palermo, Sicily on 21-22 September. Discussion groups will focus on four topics:
- Curriculum Development
- Exchange and Exhibition
- Professional Practice, External Connections
- Research and Doctoral Level

AEC/ELIA Position Paper:Creativity and Innovation
As 2009 is the EU Year for Creativity and Innovation, the two largest representative European organisations for higher arts education ELIA and AEC (European Association of Conservatoires) have brought out a joint Position Paper on the role of the arts and higher arts education as agents of creativity and innovation. The paper has been presented in Brussels on 20 January, at an event to launch EYCI artistically.

New ELIA Publication
In 2007, students from ELIA member schools in seven countries participated in the film project "The Language of the Arts and Intercultural Dialogue". In a variety of styles, from documentary to drama, stop-trick and cartoon animation to wordless art film, each contributed a short film that dealt with the theme of intercultural dialogue from their own artistic and personal standpoint.
A publication on the project is out now.
