ELIA Biennial Conference: Registration Now Open!

Hosted by the University of Applied Arts (Die Angewandte), The 12th ELIA Biennial will take place on 8-10 November 2012 in the MuseumsQuartier Wien, one of the world's largest complexes for modern art and culture, situated in the very center of the city.

Developing the third cycle: Doctoral level education for the arts.

This international conference considers the challenges, opportunities and critical issues faced in the building -and the further development of - new and existing  programmes and platforms for 3rd cycle (doctoral) education and research for the creative arts. The Conference will be held on 11-12 May 2012 at the University of the Arts London.

ELIA-ASIA Symposium: Online Registration Now Open!

ELIA warmly welcomes its members to participate in a symposium in Seoul, South Korea on 4-6 October 2012

Delegates from all over Asia, Europe and beyond will join this event that aims to network, share good practice and discuss the theme “The Role of the Arts for a Better World”. Possibilities of establishing an ELIA - ASIA network will be explored and future action agreed.

Henk Borgdorff: The conflict of the faculties

ELIA Board Member Efva Lilja, Professor of Choreography and Vice-Chancellor at the University of Dance and Circus, Stockholm is one of 12 cultural notabilities appointed to find the best examples of art engendering positive developments in larger society. On 27-28 February in Copenhagen The Danish Minister for Culture launched an initiative to explore current European art and cultural practices for new opportunities amidst the ecnomic crisis.
