I am the acting Rector / Vice-chancellor of Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), following my appointment in 2008. I am holding a doctorate in history from the University of Bern. My professional experience includes managerial and public relation responsibilities at Bern Historical Museum. From 1996 to 2003, I served as founding Director of the Museum of Communication in Bern. I was appointed founding Director of Bern University of the Arts in 2003. Between 2011 and 2013, I acted as
President of the Rectors’ Conference of the Swiss Universities of Applied Sciences and Arts.

Since November 2014 I am President of the European League of the Institutes of the Arts. In the past 5 years one of my main responsibilites was to plan the the university's new campus in Zurich to which Zurich University of the Arts and its 3500 students and faculty members moved from 35 buildings in 2 cities in 2014. The move went with a redesign of the university's strategy and the beginning of a repositioning of the institution.
