Christine Pybus is an artist and a Lecturer in Fine Art in Ireland at CIT Crawford College of Art and Design, where she also acts as International Coordinator for the Fine Art Department.
A steering committee member of Paradox Fine Art European Forum since 2010 and currently its Hon Secretary, she acted as conference organizer for Paradox’s ‘Outside In the Permeable Art School’ (2011), in Cork, strand convener both in Paradox’s Conference ‘Contesting Legacies in Fine Art Practice’ (2013) in Granada, and the strand The Undercover Curriculum, in the Paradox’s Poznan conference “Alternative Zones: uncovering the official and the unofficial in fine art practice, research and education”, in 2015.
Pybus co-edited a special edition of the Journal of Art, Design and Communication in Higher Education (ADCHE) ‘Challenging Fine Art Pedagogies’ in 2014, a new work based on the outcomes of the Poznan conference strand.
Pybus has won many fellowships and awards most recently to Oberpfälzer Künstlerhaus, Bavaria, Germany as a Tyrone Guthrie Fellow, were she was investigating ‘Heimweh’ a part of an ongoing project upon homesickness, shown at the Logan City Art Gallery in Queensland Australia in 2015.
Pybus and has worked as an external peer reviewer for national research councils and has been a member of the Representative Board of ELIA since 2010.
