  1. inclusion in ELIA’s influential voice on cultural and educational issues in Europe. ELIA has long established relationships with the European Parliament, the European Commission, the Council of Europe and national ministries and other major organisations in education and culture.
  2. invitation to take part in projects, research and activities advancing higher arts education and in collaboration with arts discipline networks and other partners
  3. participation in the various platforms ELIA creates for exchange between colleagues-experts to discuss new and challenging approaches to the role the creative industries and arts education play and their function in our societies.
  4. the opportunity to provide and learn from good practice in learning, teaching, quality assurance processes, registers of experts and research through events and projects.
  5. regular access to information for members on developments in European policy and funding opportunities.
  6. A range of subsidies and reductions on ELIA activities, including conferences, symposia, workshops and publications

Full members are normally European institutes offering higher education in the arts providing degree or degree equivalent qualifications or courses recognised at the highest professional level with voting right.

Non-European membership is the same as for full members but without voting rights.

Associate membership is open to institutions and individuals.
