The project is finished. 287 rooms have been designed and painted by 287 students from 22 different European countries. 44 Nationalities are represented. We thank all students for their fantastic work.
ELIA and Hotel Bloom! in Brussels have signed an amazing agreement. Royal Crown Brussels has been renovated into its current form: the Bloom! Hotel www.hotelbloom.com . Over 4.100 square meters of wall within the hotel rooms have been decorated with mural paintings. The paintings are created by students, graduates and post graduates from the ELIA member institutions
ELIA was responsible for the artistic and creative input of this project. The theme of the project is 'Bloom'. Students who have been selected had to create a mural painting according to this theme.
The dictionary defines the word ‘bloom’ as follows:
- the flower of a plant.
- flowers collectively: the bloom of the cherry tree.
- state of having the buds opened: The gardens are all in bloom.
- to make bloom or cause to flourish: a happiness that blooms the cheek.
- to invest with lustre or beauty: an industry that blooms one's talents.
- to cause a cloudy area on (something shiny); dampen; chill: Their breath bloomed the frosty pane.
