Merz Akademie
Hochschule für Gestaltung Stuttgart
(University of Applied Arts)

Teckstrasse 58
D-70190 Stuttgart
Germany

I would consider as my strength a great interest in the development of a European QA system in Art and Design, a sound knowledge and understanding of and experience with the British QA system and experience in "translating" these issues and agendas into a different national and institutional context. To me QA in a nutshell is: it must offer real solutions to real problems (or challenges) of an institution.

Being not a teacher or artist myself I cannot represent or evaluate the quality of content of an artistic subject or field, my focus is on structures and procedures.

Born 1964, studied American Studies (focus on Film Studies) in Tuebingen (Germany) and San Francisco. Graduated as "Magister" (M.A) in 1994. Worked since at Merz Akademie, Stuttgart in a variety of managerial tasks ranging from Public Relations to International Affairs but with a strong focus on QA in the recent 5 years. Project Manager of various EC funded R&D projects.
Course Manager and QA person for a collaborative Masters Programm with the University of Portsmouth. Responsible for all internal QA procedures at our school, strongly involved in course management and evolvement.

I communicate easily in English, my understanding of French is basic.
