ELIA and the Royal Crown Hotel in Brussels will be signing an amazing agreement. Royal Crown Brussels is renovating its current hotel. Over 4.100 square meters of wall within the hotel rooms will be decorated with mural paintings. The paintings will be created by students, graduates and post graduates from the ELIA member institutions, from over 30 European countries.

With this project Royal Crown Hotel Brussels offers a new room concept. The hotel tries to make the arts more accessible to a broader audience.
The theme of the hotel will be: the arising (creating, florish, growth) of the new. This, because one can say that there will be arising a new hotel with a new concept in the heart of Brussels. The hotel is situated next to the famous herbal gardens. But also, there will be arising new paintings, new creative works. Young artist can florish here and experience life outside their institution.

ELIA is responsible for the artistic and creative input of this project. The search for young artists will start soon. A special ELIA selection committee will be formed. The committee will be comprised of experts representing different fields of the Higher Art Education in various EU and EFTA countries. Artists are can upload their work through the ELIA web site. After submitting their proposals, the artist will be notified within three weeks of sending ELIA about the status of the selection of their work. There are 300 rooms available for painting and these rooms will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis. Soon, there will be a link on this web site, where students submit their proposals.
