Luzern, Switzerland, 3-6 November
'Challenging the Frame' is the first ELIA conference to be held outside the European Union, in Switzerland. A country which sits geographically nearer the centre of Europe than the edge, renowned for its neutrality, Switzerland is both within and outside the frame at the same time. The venue for the conference is also a major contributor. Designed by the acclaimed French architect Jean Nouvel, the Kultur- und Kongresszentrum Luzern is a powerhouse of a venue that is equally inspiring and awesome in its scale, location and range of facilities on offer. This is also the first ELIA conference to have a symposium developed and entirely led by students and to have created an Interactive Forum as a means of stimulating debate around presentations of projects, ideas and initiatives by member institutions.
